Off the shelf panels are ordered directly from IDT’s product/catalog pages for predesigned panels, while custom panels are ordered by designing them in the xGen™ Hyb Panel Design Tool or requesting a consultation with IDT to define specifications before ordering.
A custom panel is appropriate when predesigned options do not cover your targets or when you need flexibility to tailor, expand, or combine probe content across specific regions or application. For more information about custom panels, please reach out to IDT to discuss your specific needs.
IDT offers xGen™ predesigned hybrid capture research panels (e.g., Exome, AML Cancer, Inherited Diseases, Pan‑Cancer, CNV Backbone, Human ID, mtDNA, SARS‑CoV‑2) (xGen Predesigned Hyb Capture Panels) as well as xGen custom hybrid capture research panels (xGen Custom NGS Hybridization Capture Panels) that are built to user specifications and can be combined or expanded for DNA, RNA, or methyl‑seq studies. This kit is configured to accommodate 96 samples in a 6 plex reaction but you are able to design your use as needed for your work. Please refer to the quick start guide and the individual protocols for more details.
xGen NGS cfDNA & FFPE Workflow Base Kit provides a complete workflow for preparing sequencing-ready libraries from cfDNA or FFPE DNA and performing hybridization-based target enrichment. This is called a base kit because it includes the reagents you need for (1) Library construction with dual in line UMIs, (2) Sample indexing using unique dual index (UDI) primers, and (3) Post-capture amplification for sequencing on Illumina® platforms. It does not include the xGen Hybridization capture panels that are defined specifically for your work. Those are available separately, ensuring you the flexibility to achieve success.
